REMIX 2023 – “A Night at the Movies”

REMIX is a one-night opportunity for the community to mix it up and support the WCA’s mission. The 2023 REMIX theme was “A Night at the Movies.” Attendees were encouraged to dress up as their favorite movie character or show up ready to walk the red carpet.

With the guidance of the WCA’s Partners Guild, REMIX plays a vital role in raising critical funds for WCA clients and programs during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This event has served the Women’s Center for Advancement for years, raising over $1.4 million for the organization. The 2023 REMIX event was held at the Marriott Capitol District, 222 N. 10th St., on Friday, Oct. 20. The honorary chairs for this year were Abbie Raikes & Adam Gouttierre and Lauren Simpson & Jake Hoppe.

This year’s REMIX is set to be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at the Cottonwood Hotel, with honorary chair Silva Raker.

For more than 100 years, the WCA has served the critical needs of anyone in Omaha who is or who has experienced and survived domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking or human trafficking. The organization is dedicated to helping clients and their children stay safe and grow strong by addressing their immediate safety needs as well as long-term self-sufficiency needs. The WCA’s trained experts take a multifaceted approach to provide vital services, including the Omaha area’s domestic violence and sexual assault crisis hotline, advocacy, individualized case management, free legal services, therapy, peer-led support groups, self-sufficiency and career programs.
