Ways to Give to the WCA
The WCA relies heavily on the generosity of community members to help sustain the agency’s programs and services. Individuals can support the WCA in a number of ways:
- Annual Fund – General Giving
The WCA’s Annual Fund provides vital operating support for the agency. Individuals can make a one-time gift at any time of the year or set up a recurring gift (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
- Omaha Gives!
The WCA participates in the Omaha Community Foundation’s city-wide giving day each year. Making a contribution during Omaha Gives helps the WCA qualify for prizes and matching gifts.
- Company match on a personal contribution
Talk to your employer about matching your 100% tax deductible contribution to the WCA.
The WCA holds two major special events each year, both of which raise critical operating dollars for the agency:
The Tribute to Women Luncheon in June and the Partners Guild’s tgif! event in October.
You can support the WCA through these events in several ways:
- Purchase tickets
- Sponsor – multiple sponsorship levels are available
- Buy an auction item (tgif!)
- Raise the Paddle (tgif!)
In addition to event sponsorships, there are a number of ways businesses can support and partner with the WCA.
- Corporate Annual Fund Gift
Contributions from businesses to the WCA’s Annual Fund provide vital operating support for the agency. Like individuals, businesses can make a one-time gift or set up a recurring payment.
- Program and Class Sponsorships
The WCA offers opportunities for businesses to sponsor specific programs and classes, providing recognition and logo placement in connection with marketing efforts. Opportunities include:
- The Lunch and Learn Series
- Classes and Workshops
- Prevention and Education Presentations
- Employee Brown Bag Lunches and Trainings
The WCA offers onsite employee trainings on a suggested donation scale, depending on the audience size and type of training. The WCA currently offers a “Domestic Violence and the Workplace” training and can customize any presentation to meet your company’s specific needs.
- Host a Clothing or Greatest Needs Drive
The WCA relies heavily on in-kind donations to fulfill clients’ basic needs. Such items include toiletries, cell phones, diapers, undergarments, coats, and clothing for the agency’s career closet. Businesses can make a large impact by hosting a drive and encouraging employees to give.
Challenge matches can be a successful way to motivate others to give. Challenge matches are particularly effective during Omaha Gives, fundraising events, and campaigns throughout the year.
Leave a legacy, remember the WCA in your will.
